If you aren’t one of my huge extended family then I will introduce myself 🙂 (family can read on for amusement though you know who I am anyway – I hope)
My name is Ruth.
In 2013 after a bit of disappointment with a false start in my nursing career I decided to give TEFL (teaching english as a foreign language) a shot. I did an online course followed by a not-so-much internship and more of a money haemorrhage, teaching in a city in Thailand that even the Thai’s didn’t want to go to. After 5 and half months of “That’s it, I’m quitting” my contract finished and I travelled round South East Asia – Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. I arrived home a week before christmas.
Mum picked me up from the airport, with all of the usual questions “How was it?” “Have you got lots of photos?” etc etc dot dot dot. My response? “I’m going back to Vietnam in August”.
I wasn’t kidding. On August the 1st 2014 I flew back to Vietnam having accepted a TEFL job a couple of months before.
I stayed there for sixth months before one month back in chilly winter Scotland.
This is the last trip for a while (!) and is made up of:
India, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia (?), Australia, and Fiji!!!! ✈️✈️✈️🌍🌎🌏
